The American Association of Snoaboard Instructors (AASI) is developed by snowboarders for snowboarders, and exists to help you in your professional development. A subscription to The Pro Rider magazine, the definitive publication on what is happening in teaching snowboarding. As a member of AASI, you will also receive copies of The Professional Skier, published by the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), so you can keep up to speed on how skiers are crossing over to snowboarding.
Education Materials
AASI is developing a new education manual and video to be released in the fall of 1998. Additionally you have the ability to purchase all PSIA manuals and videos, plus a wide variety of other publications on snowboard instruction, at member prices. AASI also maintains a lending library of videos and other materials to help managers and trainers.
Professional Development: Educational Programs and Conventions
AASI division clinics and conventions are held throughout the country each season. These are invaluable opportunities to improve your skills as a teaching professional.
Improve Your Snowboarding Skills
AASI, through its division, offers clinics and seminars designed specifically to improve your snowboarding technique. You'll learn more, challenge yourself, and have fun while doing it!
Special Purchase Opportunities
Each member receives the Accessories catalog. This annual publication is full of hard-to-find items that make snowboard teaching a little easier. The catalog is your source for AASI education materials and specialty items, all at special member pricing. We also promote direct mail opportunities from suppliers from within and from outside the snowboard industry.
Certification
AASI certification is recognized across the country, and often can mean increased wages, additional benefits, and recognition for you. Certification exams are offered by AASI division. The divisions can give you more specific information about their requirements. Level III certified members may also join ISIA.
Member Information and Services Team

Promoting the Association and You
AASI works closely with industry partners such as the Professional Ski Instructors of America, National Ski Areas Association, the National Ski Patrol, and others to increase industry and public awareness of the value of professional teaching. AASI is represented at the NSAA convention and SIA trade show. Additionally, AASI works with industry media, sponsors, and supporters from outside the snowboard industry to promote snow sports and your role.
Your Board of Directors continually looks at ways to improve AASI programs and materials, all with an eye towards increasing the value of your membership.
