Price turned his enthusiasm for outdoor pursuits into a full-time career beginning in 1984. He has made a living as a commercial raft guide, a rock climbing instructor, and a kayak instructor in addition to teaching snowboarding at Colorado resorts Purgatory, Telluride, Winter Park, and Breckenridge as well as at New Mexico’s Sandia Peak. Price was among the first in the country to earn Level III certification in snowboard instruction when the credential was first offered in 1991. Since then, he’s been an AASI-
Rocky Mountain Division examiner and member of the past Snowboard Team before becoming the coach of the current team. Through various print, video, and TV projects, Price has been an advocate of learning how to ride through lessons rather than through trial and error. He helped develop the most recent AASI Snowboard Manual and accompanying video.
